A Zen Koan Hits the Bullseye
I attended an online Zen event where an unexpected small-group format fostered a surprising sense of intimacy.
This experience echoes a classic koan in which the teacher tells the pilgrim, "Not knowing is most intimate."
Dropping assumptions and embracing wonder helps us relate to our lives, work, and loved ones with fresh eyes.
“Not knowing" applies to faith deconstruction, contrasting the false certainty of religious indoctrination with the honest uncertainty of true spiritual seeking.
Where are you going? When you are not knowing, is it close, personal, and warm, or is it scary?
